Bomb Destroys Three Houses in Nam Yuen District, No Casualties Reported

Nam yuen: Surveying the damage from the bomb that hit Nam Yuen District, three houses were destroyed, though fortunately, no casualties were reported as residents had evacuated prior to the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, a bomb fell in the area, completely destroying the three houses, which were uninhabited at the time due to successful evacuation measures.

The news team visited the site in Nam Yuen District following the incident. Residents reported hearing the sound of cannons at around 4:30 in the morning on July 25, shortly before the bombs struck. Nearby villagers had already moved to safe locations the previous day, which prevented any injuries.

The survey of Nam Yuen town revealed that many villagers continued to evacuate to designated safe places as part of the provincial evacuation plan. Officials on the ground facilitated the evacuation process. The district's economic zone remains closed off, with all businesses, including convenience stores, restaurants, and gas stations, temporarily shut down.

The local temple, a spiritual refuge for many, has also been impacted. The usual alms round has been interrupted due to the absence of residents to offer alms to monks. The temple remains a crucial source of support and encouragement for the officials managing the crisis. Community leaders have assured evacuated residents that they will protect the community from potential threats, including theft.

Evacuees from the district are now in a government-designated safe area. Although the sudden emergency caused anxiety on the first night, residents are beginning to adapt to their new circumstances as they continue to receive support from the authorities.
