Bhumtham Awaits Clarification on Khao Kradong Land Investigation

Bangkok: "Bhumtham" has not yet seen the documents from the Khao Kradong Land Investigation Committee, and has thrown the responsibility to "Anutin" for clarification.

According to Thai News Agency, Pheu Thai Party leader Phumtham Wechayachai addressed the disclosure of documents from the Khao Kradong Land Inspection Committee, which found no revocation of the Khao Kradong land plots in Isan and Samet subdistricts, Buriram District, Buriram Province, under Section 61, paragraph 8 of the Land Code. He stated that he had not yet seen the disclosed documents. The findings of the meeting were discussed by Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr. Decha Isara Khaothong, who clearly outlined options and solutions. He stated that he had previously attended a meeting attended by the Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, the Director-General of the Land Department, and surveyors from both sides. Importantly, the details should not be overlooked, but rather, the land is royally granted by King Rama V, and all legal processes have been completed. There is one remaining issue that the previous Director-General of the Land Department failed to address. Furthermore, there is the matter o f map inspection, which both sides refused to sign.

Mr. Bhumtham continued, saying that when he was Minister of the Interior, Mr. Decha Isam had them sign together. The documents were clear. The land, which had been accepted in the process informed by the Land Department, was the first thing to be done. He went back and retrieved the order that ended the incomplete and illegal work and corrected it. That's all. If those corrections are completed, the Land Department can legally announce the repossession of the land. Therefore, he had to wait for Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, to come in and explain the matter. This matter will undoubtedly lead to a no-confidence motion, and the evidence will be examined there.

"I heard today that you said you weren't involved. That doesn't mean you have to be a minister to do it. Now that you're the prime minister, you can give orders over the phone. You don't need to be in office to handle it. I think we need to go back and check the details and investigate. Everything is undeniable and cannot be lied to. But those who like to twist their stories might be able to do it. Let's go back and look at the details. I think I've been talking about Khao Kradong for a long time. Let's wait and see the facts when they're revealed," said Mr. Phumtham.
