Myawaddy: BGF Task Force - DKBA Task Force has urgently suppressed a call center gang composed of more than 6,900 individuals, expressing the burden of managing them and urging Thailand to coordinate with embassies for their swift repatriation.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters detailed the ongoing crackdown efforts by the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) and Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) in Myawaddy District, Myanmar. The BGF continues its operations to dismantle call center gangs, fraud groups, and human trafficking networks within their jurisdiction. They have been actively inspecting and targeting these groups in Shwe Kokko and KK Park. As of February 24, approximately 6,500 foreigners have been apprehended. Following their arrest, authorities are compiling lists categorized by nationality and conducting initial investigations to ascertain their involvement in call center activities or if they were victims of human trafficking. The investigations are ongoing.

The BGF faces significant challenges in managing the large number of detained foreigners. They are appealing to the Thai government and the embassies of the respective countries to work with the Myanmar government for the prompt repatriation of these individuals. Previously, 621 Chinese nationals were successfully repatriated.

Similarly, the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) currently holds 401 foreigners and is experiencing difficulties in managing them. They are also seeking coordination with various embassies for the expeditious repatriation of these individuals.
