Bangkok: BG Pathum United has announced the return of Ekanit Panya, the 25-year-old attacker from the Thai national team, to bolster their squad for the upcoming 2025/26 Thai League season. Ekanit, who was on loan to Ehime FC in J-League 2 in Japan last season, saw limited playtime, featuring in only four games-three in J-League 2 and one in the YBC Levain Cup. His return to BG Pathum United is anticipated to strengthen the team as they prepare for the new season. According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national women's football team, currently ranked 46th globally, is under the guidance of Japanese head coach Futoshi Ikeda. The team has been training at the Prince Royal's College football field in Chiang Mai Province as they gear up for their next challenge-the 2026 AFC Women's Championship qualifying round, Group B, match 3, against Mongolia. Mongolia holds the 126th position in the world rankings. Reanne Rush, a midfielder for the Thai national team, expressed confidence in securing a victory in the upco ming match against Mongolia. She emphasized the hard work and dedication of both the players and the coaching staff, which she believes will translate into a successful outcome. The Thai women's national football team is set to face Mongolia in the 2026 AFC Women's Championship Qualifying Round, Group B, Match 3. The match will take place at the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
