Dashcam footage captured the moment when two groups of teenagers fought, leaving one dead and three injured, two seriously, before police tracked down and arrested the perpetrators within an hour. Bang Pakong Police Station, Chachoengsao Province, obtained footage from a car's dashcam of the incident at around midnight. A group of Bang Pakong teenagers, aged 13-17, met with a group of Chonburi teenagers to resolve a problem over a post challenging each other on the side of Bangna-Trat Road. A group of Bang Pakong teenagers walked towards a group of Chonburi teenagers and were immediately chased and shot at. One of the Bang Pakong teenagers was shot and killed, Mr. Apiwat (assumed name), aged 17, who was shot once in the head and three times in the torso, seriously injured, before dying later. Three other people were injured, two of them seriously. The owner of the restaurant where the incident occurred testified that while he was packing up the shop, he heard three gunshots before several teenagers ran in to the shop to take cover. One of them, Mr. Nai (assumed name), was shot and was sitting there breathing faintly. On the road, he saw two teenagers lying face down on the ground after being shot. Then the group of more than 10 teenagers who caused the incident rode their motorcycles away at high speed. The group of friends of the injured and deceased stated that the group that caused the incident were teenagers from the Wat Sri area of ??Phan Thong, Chonburi Province, who had problems posting insults and challenges to women before meeting to resolve the problem. The deceased and injured group did not know what was going on. They came because the young people who had the problem called to invite them to help negotiate the problem with the group of Chonburi teenagers. They met at several points on Theparat Road (Bangna-Trat) before ending up at Km. 44, the scene of the incident, where the deceased group was walking to find the group of Chonburi teenagers to talk. But when they walked in, the Chonburi group pu lled out knives and chased and shot at their group, causing Mr. Apiwat and Mr. Phongsaphan to collapse on the road. The rest ran for their lives, while the Chonburi teenagers rode motorcycles to escape back to Chonburi. Police rushed through CCTV footage and within an hour, they were able to track down the gunman and about 10 other teenagers. They were taken in for questioning about their involvement in the incident. While Mr. Chairat, age 19, the gunman who shot the three injured people, stated that a friend who had a problem with a woman invited him to go with him to solve the problem, but when he arrived at the scene, the opposing side attacked his friend, so he fired his gun into the air to threaten them, not knowing whether anyone would be hurt or die, before returning home.
