Bang Ya Bongla Kings Capture Aggressive King Cobra in Songkhla Rubber Plantation

Sadao: 'Bang Ya Bongla Kings' responded swiftly to a distress call in Songkhla Province, where a protective mother king cobra had been terrorizing local rubber farmers. The cobra, defending her nest, attacked villagers, prompting them to flee into the forest and cease rubber tapping activities.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded at Mr. Preecha's rubber plantation in Ban Khuan Yang, Village 9, Samnak Taew Subdistrict. The mother king cobra, fiercely guarding her eggs near a rubber tree, first appeared on May 8th, leading to a near-miss encounter with Mr. Preecha. Fearing for his safety, he halted his work and called upon Bang Ya Bongla Kings, known as the king cobra experts of the South, for assistance.

The team, led by Bang Ya Bongla King, traveled from Krabi by express train to address the situation. Upon arrival, they embarked on a challenging journey to the remote plantation. They discovered the cobra, a nearly 3-meter-long young female, fiercely defending her nest. After carefully waiting for the right moment, Bang Ya Bongla King successfully subdued the snake using his bare hands. The nest contained 28 eggs, expected to hatch in about ten days.

Mr. Bangya Bonglakings expressed relief at encountering only a female cobra, as they typically guard nests in pairs. He plans to relocate the snake and her eggs to a natural forest away from the village, ensuring the safety of both the community and the cobra.
