Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, expressed his lack of concern over Sonthi Limthongkul's recent call for monthly street protests starting next year. Anutin emphasized that while everyone has the right to express themselves, actions must remain within the boundaries of the law. He also confirmed that the coalition government, comprising Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties, remains strong and united. According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, who is also the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed Sonthi Limthongkul's statements about the political climate being ripe for street demonstrations. Sonthi, founder of Manager Media and owner of the Sonthi Talk program, has been vocal about organizing monthly rallies. Anutin acknowledged the right to free expression in a democratic system but stressed the importance of adhering to legal frameworks. He called for open-mindedness and constructive dialogue to ensure the country's progress. Anutin also dismissed claims of a conflict between the Bhumjaithai Party and the Pheu Thai Party over issues concerning the Khao Kradong area and Alpine land. He clarified that there is no discord within the coalition government. Anutin affirmed that he consistently receives directives from the Prime Minister and that ministers from all coalition parties are cooperating harmoniously. Regarding the draft referendum bill, Anutin mentioned that discussions with coalition leaders have not yet taken place, particularly on whether it qualifies as a financial law. He expressed no concern over potential delays in the referendum until 2026, stating that discussions would occur at an appropriate time. The Bhumjaithai Party is slated to host the next coalition parties' dinner to foster continued collaboration.
