Anutin Dismisses Cabinet Reshuffle Rumors, Clarifies No Alliance with Palang Pracharath Party

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has addressed rumors regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle, asserting that there has been no indication from the Prime Minister about any such changes. Laughing off suggestions that the Pheu Thai Party desires control over the Ministry of Interior, Anutin urged people to cease inquiries about a reshuffle, emphasizing that the Prime Minister alone would initiate discussions with party leaders if any changes were imminent, which has not occurred.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin also dismissed speculation that the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party is collaborating with the Bhumjaithai Party to exert pressure on the Pheu Thai Party. He stated, "Oh, how can we pressure each other? We are together. We don't need to pressure each other. Just create understanding and a bond. That's enough." He emphasized that discussions should be conducted with reason rather than through bargaining power, suggesting that negotiating could lead to chaos.

Anutin reassured that the absence of a cabinet reshuffle does not impact the government's status, as the coalition parties continue to work together. He urged reporters to heed the Prime Minister's confirmation from the previous week that no reshuffle was planned. Anutin reiterated that the Bhumjaithai Party is focused on its responsibilities, particularly regarding border issues, and confirmed that there have been no dinner meetings with coalition partners.

When questioned about potential concerns over the current political situation, Anutin expressed confidence, stating that the government is diligently working and there is no cause for concern. Regarding a planned visit to Ubon Ratchathani, Anutin mentioned that while he was initially scheduled to travel there, the trip has been postponed to align with a meeting on flood issues with northeastern provincial governors on Friday, June 13, to avoid unnecessary disruptions.
