Anutin Declares Coalition Dinner as Milestone in Government Unity

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has declared the recent coalition party dinner as the most significant achievement since joining the government. Anutin, who is also the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, emphasized the dinner's role in reinforcing unity among coalition parties, despite past betrayals. He stressed that Bhumjaithai would maintain solidarity during any no-confidence debates, advocating for a collective approach to governance.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin highlighted the Prime Minister's leadership during the dinner, noting that it instilled confidence among coalition parties. The Prime Minister's clear direction reinforced the need for government unity. Anutin urged party leaders and secretaries to ensure that their MPs adhere to the government's guidelines and avoid actions that could disrupt cohesion. He suggested that the Prime Minister should be consulted on any guidelines and informed of any accusations in advance.

Addressing the Bhumjaithai Party's commitment, Anutin reiterated that their participation in the government is driven by a spirit of cooperation. He assured that Bhumjaithai would support all coalition partners, even those that have previously undermined them. Anutin stated that personal grievances should not affect the collective goal of maintaining a stable government.

Regarding the Department of Special Investigation's delay in examining alleged collusion among senators, Anutin admitted to only having seen the headline and not yet delved into the details. He mentioned that during the coalition dinner, he was initially the host but shared the cost to prevent it from becoming a contentious issue.

When questioned about the significance of sharing the dinner costs, Anutin clarified that it was not symbolic of power distribution. Instead, it was a meeting organized by the government leaders to solidify guidelines and express the Prime Minister's vision, which was accepted by all coalition parties as a commitment to collaboration.

Anutin announced that the next coalition dinner would be hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, leader of the Thai Sang Chart Party. Ahead of any no-confidence debates, the coalition parties plan to reconvene to reaffirm their shared objectives.
