Anutin Assures Integrity in District Officer School Examination Process

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has confirmed the transparency and fairness of the District Officer School examination process, emphasizing that the exams are verifiable, and there is no evidence of exam buying. Anutin highlighted that discussions on the matter have occurred internally, and those who did not attend the school have accepted the results and are preparing to reattempt the exam.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin spoke about the Department of Provincial Administration's recent announcement regarding the selection of 300 civil servants for training courses for District Chiefs in Classes 85, 86, and 87. He addressed concerns over alleged buying and selling of positions, asserting that such practices do not exist due to the open examination system. An external educational institution is responsible for conducting, issuing, scoring, and verifying the exams, ensuring the integrity of the process.

When questioned about the presence of monetary requirements for the district officer course exam before his tenure as Interior Minister, Anutin refuted any such claims. He mentioned that since he took office, the focus has been on supporting only those who are truly capable and ready to serve, as these individuals are expected to grow, progress, and alleviate public suffering.

Anutin further responded to queries about complaints regarding the purchase of entrance exams, stating that he had received reports confirming the transparent and careful handling of the process. He clarified that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Provincial Administration and its Director-General. Anutin reiterated that his role as an executive is to ensure that procedures are conducted correctly and without accusations, resulting in fair outcomes for all involved. Those who did not succeed have accepted the results and are preparing for future opportunities.
