Anutin and Prayut Share East-Facing Desk at Government House

Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin shares the same desk as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, both facing east. This differs from Settha and Paethongtarn, who use their own desks and face north.

According to Thai News Agency, at Government House today, facilities officials transported furniture, tables, and office chairs to the Thai Khu Fa building using a six-wheeled truck. The desk in question belongs to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, situated in the Office of the Prime Minister's Secretariat. It features the same desk and chairs as those used by former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, maintaining an eastward orientation. In contrast, during the tenures of former Prime Ministers Settha Thavisin and Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the desks faced north.

Reporters noted that Mr. Anutin's desk and chairs were relocated because during the reigns of Mr. Settha and Ms. Paethongtarn, they were personal items, and all of General Prayut's work clothes were removed. However, Mr. Anutin has reused them, and nothing of his personal nature has been brought in. The Anutin government initially brought officials into the office a week ago. As for the image of the Prime Minister's House, Ms. Paethongtarn's name tag has not yet been placed on it. The Fine Arts Department will have to review it first, as the image of other former prime ministers needs to be moved to fit the lighting. Furthermore, the Prime Minister's House is so large that it needs to be moved up to the second floor.

As for the photo of Mr. Anutin, it has not yet been prepared because a full-dress photo must first be taken at the Cabinet Secretariat.
