Pattaya: Angel Yin, a female golfer from the United States, secured victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand 2025 golf championship, while 'Pro Jin' finished third.
According to Thai News Agency, the LPGA Tour golf tournament, held at Siam Country Club, Old Course, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, concluded its final day with Angel Yin, the world's 17th ranked professional golfer, leading from the third day. Yin added 7 under par 65 for a total score of 28 under par 260, setting a record for the highest score in the tournament's history. She narrowly defeated Akie Iwai, the world's 33rd ranked golfer from Japan, who scored 27 under par 261, by just one stroke.
After securing the championship and a prize of $255,000, Angel Yin expressed satisfaction with her second LPGA Tour title, following her first win at the Buick LPGA Shanghai 2023 in China. She appreciated the tournament's organization and the substantial attendance by golf fans.
'Pro Jin' Atthaya Thitikul, the world's No. 2 pro golfer and recent Ladies European Tour winner, added 6 under par 66 for a total of 21 under par 267, securing third place and earning prize money of $114,750 or approximately 3.85 million baht. 'Pro Mo' Moriya Jutanugarn, ranked No. 120, and 'Pro Patty' Paphangkorn Tavatanakit, the world's No. 25 and defending champion, both finished fourth with a total score of 19 under par 269, each receiving prize money of approximately 2.68 million baht. Both 'Pro Jin' and 'Pro Mo' expressed contentment with their performances and aim to enhance their skills in the upcoming event in Singapore. They extended gratitude to the fans for their support.
Meanwhile, 'Pro Mae' Ariya Jutanugarn, the world number 43 and 2021 champion, scored a total of 13 under par 275, concluding in joint 14th place. 'Pro Meow' Pajaree Anannarukarn scored 12 under par 276, finishing in joint 17th place.
