The ceremony included a wreath-laying and spirit-worshipping at the monument of Field Marshal Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, a key figure in the Air Force's legacy. The events also honored former Air Force commanders and heroes. The 68th Air Force Day was marked by the Commander-in-Chief's message at the Air Force Headquarters. Since the inception of aviation in Thailand, initiated by a foreign demonstration of flight in 1911, the Royal Thai Air Force has evolved into a significant regional power. This transformation began during King Rama VI's reign, leading to the establishment of the 'Aviation Department' and further advancements in air capabilities. The strategic development continues today, ensuring national security and progress in line with the 20-year national strategy.

Air power's significance was recognized in 1921 when the Department of Military Aviation transitioned into the Department of the Air Force, establishing its critical role beyond military strategies. April 9, 1937, marked a crucial milestone as the Air Force Department was elevated to the 'Air Force', with Group Captain Phra Wechayan Trangsarit as the inaugural Air Force Commander, solidifying April 9 as 'Air Force Day'.
