The International Conference on Disaster and Emergency Medicine 2024 has begun, aiming to develop emergency response capacity and promote sustainable international cooperation. (29 July 2024) Associate Professor Thawida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, joined the opening ceremony of the 2024 International Academic Conference on Disaster and Emergency Medicine, The First CRA Disaster and Emergency Management Conference: 'Time To Move Forward', chaired by Professor Emeritus Dr. Ratchata Ratchatanavin, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, along with executives from Chulabhorn Royal Academy and disaster and emergency medicine network agencies. For the 2024 International Conference on Disaster and Emergency Medicine, the Princess Chulabhorn Disaster and Emergency Medicine Center in collaboration with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine is organizing the conference under the concept of The First CRA Disaster and Emergency Management Conference: 'Time To Move Forward' during 29-31 July 2024 at the Vayuphak Grand Ballroom, 4th floor, Centara Life Hotel, Government Complex and Convention Center, Chaeng Watthana. The objectives are to promote the exchange of knowledge on disaster and emergency medicine and to enhance knowledge on communication to cope with emergencies and disasters. This conference took place amidst Thailand's awareness of preparing for various disasters after national and international events, such as the 2004 tsunami and the 2019 COVID-19 outbreak, as well as disasters in various areas across the country, such as fires in the capital, floods, and air pollution, which have had widespread impacts on the general public. As a result, many agencies are beginning to realize the need to develop a disaster management system that is flexible and adaptable to the situation. The participants included the media and the general public. The highlight of this conference is the CDEM Rally, where more than 10 multidisciplinary teams from hospitals nationwide have been sent to com pete for awards. In addition, there are also interesting research presentations in disaster and emergency medicine, with all abstracts submitted to be published in world-class journals. The conference is honored to have 7 internationally renowned speakers in the field of emergency medicine and disaster management from various countries around the world, as follows: 1.
