The Ministry of Higher Education recommends using ‘ThaiWater’ to monitor water disasters.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation recommends using the ThaiWater application to track water situations and warn people accurately and promptly. Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the opening ceremony of 'Know Water, Know Air, Know Disasters via ThaiWater: Learning to Monitor Water Situations for Communication', in which ThaiWater is an application that reports water and air situations, which can be used to warn the public accurately and promptly. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation realizes the impact of flooding in many areas on the lives of the people on a wide scale. Therefore, it is important to solve the problem and quickly alleviate the impact of such disasters. Therefore, the 'MHESI Flood Operation Center' has been established to serve as a center for planning, coordinating and commanding, using knowledge, technology and innovation to help victims effectively. ThaiWater is a modern water situation monitoring and forecasting system developed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation through the Water Resources Information Institute (WRI) because it believes that the key to disaster response is having accurate, precise and timely information. The public can use it via both the website and mobile applications. It includes information on weather conditions such as temperature, rain forecasts, storm forecasts, etc., water situations such as water levels in various water sources, water volume in dams, waterways, and targeting risk areas from models. When the public is aware of the water situation in a timely manner, it will lead to more effective disaster preparedness. Ms. Supamas said that she ordered the 'Flood Operations Center of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation' to act as a war room to plan, coordinate and command agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to quickl y bring knowledge, technology, innovation and necessary items to help those affected in the area. This operation center is supported by data from the National Water Database, which is the main agency for collecting, linking, integrating and analyzing water and climate data. In addition, there is a monitoring and forecasting system in advance to plan for dealing with flood situations in the area effectively. People can follow the water situation information via the National Water Database website www.thaiwater.net and the ThaiWater Mobile Application, which can be downloaded for both Android and IOS.
