Former Prime Minister Settha Thavisin joined the 80th Anniversary Celebration of 8 Decades of Bilateral Relations between India and Thailand yesterday (27 August) at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park, organized by the ITCC-India-Thai Chamber of Commerce, as part of the recognition of the two countries' success in promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation over the past 80 years. The event also presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Aloke Lohia, Founder and Group CEO of Indorama Ventures, in recognition of his outstanding achievements as an inspiring business leader for both Thais and Indians. Mr. Settha also gave a speech emphasizing the close relationship between Thailand and India over the past 80 years and believed that t here will be new opportunities from cooperation between the two countries in the future. Although the political situation in Thailand has been problematic in stability in the past, he still believes in the country's potential and believes that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, is a strong leader with ability and a sharp business vision who will be able to continue the foundation of cooperation between Thailand and India to be stronger than before.
