“Santhiya” storms the Election Commission to demand progress on the complaint against 2 senators.

"Sonthiya" storms the EC to demand progress on the complaint against 2 senators, and threatens that if the senators make fun of fellow members and do not apologize by this Friday, they will file a complaint with the NACC to investigate ethics. Mr. Sonthiya Sawasdee, former advisor to the House of Representatives' Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights, traveled to the Election Commission (EC) office and gave an interview to the media. He said that today he came to discuss 2 issues, which are about all senators. Issue 1: He was informed by the EC about the district and provincial elections that he had previously filed 2 complaints about. Mr. Sonthiya said that the first issue was about Ms. Nantana Nantawaropas, a member of the Senate, in the provincial election case and she went up on stage to give a speech at the Jim Thompson House meeting room, which today the EC called her in for questioning for the second time and she cited 2 witnesses who were candidates. The second issue was about Professor Dr. Ke sakamon Pliansamai, a member of the Senate, which she had also complained about. Today, she came to follow up on the progress of both issues regarding the Senate. Mr. Sonthiya continued that yesterday (September 10) in the Senate meeting, one Senator stood up to debate in the parliament and started crying. Another Senator came in and showed inappropriate behavior in a mocking manner, asking for tissues, as if mocking the Senator who really cried. He viewed the Senate as a council of honorable people who should have maturity. I have complained to the senator who made fun of another senator who cried yesterday. I have demanded an apology to the Thai people all over the country. However, if he does not apologize on Friday (September 13), I will ask permission to submit a serious ethics complaint to the NACC for his behavior. I would like to compare this case to the case of an MP raising three fingers at Sanam Luang. I do not want to see the use of parliament, whether by MPs or senators, in a funny way or to ca use the Thai people all over the country to lose trust. 'Even though I was not elected, in the House of Representatives, I ask that you maintain the behavior and maturity that all Thai people must set as an example and show that the House of Representatives is a sacred place, a place to solve problems for the people, and a place that is not a stage for comedy. Therefore, I call on the senators who made fun of me yesterday to apologize to the people. If you do not apologize, this Friday I will submit your serious ethics to the NACC for further investigation and consideration.' Source: Thai News Agency
