Prime Minister Approves Peace Plan for Southern Border Provinces

Bangkok: The Prime Minister led the first meeting of the ISOC, approving the plan for peace in the southern border provinces. The Prime Minister chaired the first meeting of the ISOC board, approving plans to strengthen peace in the southern border provinces and restructuring the organization to accommodate the current situation. He also ordered increased surveillance of threats, proactive intelligence use to prevent and suppress drug trafficking, terrorism, and scammers. According to Thai News Agency, Major General Thammanoon Maisonthi, spokesman for the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), announced the results of the 1/2026 meeting of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. The meeting approved the 2025-2027 Southern Border Provinces Peacebuilding Action Plan, a comprehensive plan for all sectors in the region, covering all aspects of security, development, and public understanding. Major General Thamanoon said the m eeting also approved the security operations plan to support the enforcement areas of the Security Maintenance Act. Within the Kingdom of Thailand in 2008, due to the situation in the South improving, the Emergency Decree was changed to an Act to allow for consistent operations to support the situation in the area when an emergency occurs. It also approved the structure of the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4. Page for the fiscal year 2026 by reducing some work from the original 6 sections to 4 sections, consisting of the Command and Administration Section, the Intelligence Operations Section, the Civilian, Police, Military Command Section, and the Understanding and Development Section. Major General Thamanoon said the meeting also approved the request for approval of special positions for ISOC Region 4 Forward Command for fiscal year 2026, adjusting personnel to be appropriate for the missions to be used in response to the situation, in order to establish an important framework for resolving pr oblems. Maj. Gen. Thammanoon also stated that the Prime Minister has issued instructions regarding surveillance and threat assessment, directing intelligence agencies to proactively inform opponents and integrate intelligence. He emphasized new threats, including drug prevention and suppression, addressing terrorism, and suppressing scammers. He also emphasized building immunity and fostering correct understanding among local residents, ensuring they are aware of and aware of their role as good citizens in protecting and preserving the nation's core institutions, and encouraging their participation in resolving security issues. Maj. Gen. Thammanoon added that the Prime Minister has also ordered all departments to work together unifiedly, adjust work plans to collaborate on the ground, and maximize the use of organizational resources to avoid duplication. He has also instructed a committee to consider the deployment of personnel from the Royal Thai Police to work in ISOC central, regional, and provincial off ices to enhance readiness in problem-solving. He also urged agencies to strictly implement these orders, ensuring concrete results, building public confidence, and maximizing national benefits.
