The Department of Corrections organized an exhibition and competition for the learning centers of the royal projects of His Majesty the King under the name "Khok Nong Na of Kindness and Hope, Department of Corrections" Mr. Sahakarn Petcharin, Director-General of the Department of Corrections, presided over the opening of the exhibition and contest of the project 'Khok Nong Na of Kindness and Hope, Department of Corrections' for the fiscal year 2024. His Majesty the King graciously granted training for prisoners who have been granted a royal pardon by applying the village theory to create a new theoretical prototype in a small area to be able to build a hill, dig a pond, and grow rice to have enough to eat, enough to use, and enough peace. During the process, the focus will be on changing attitudes, thinking, and training discipline. The prisoners who have completed the training for 14 consecutive days will be able to rely on themselves, resulting in a better life. The Department of Corrections has implemen ted the project in prisons and detention centers nationwide and organized a competition divided into 2 categories: the Royal Project Learning Centers in Prisons and the Royal Project Learning Centers outside Prisons. In the fiscal year 2024, there were 3 learning centers that made it to the final round in each category: the In-Prison Learning Center category, consisting of Nakhon Pathom Central Prison, Khao Bin Central Prison, and Bang Kwang Central Prison, while the Out-Prison Learning Center category includes Chanthaburi Provincial Prison, Yasothon Provincial Prison, and Kamphaeng Phet Central Prison. In addition, the Department of Corrections recognizes the importance of the project and has continued to develop it by establishing learning centers for His Majesty the King's royal projects in prisons and correctional institutions nationwide to serve as a place for theoretical and practical learning, once again providing an opportunity for knowledge exchange among network partners and disseminating knowledge to those who are interested.
