Israel-Hezbollah Ceasefire Welcomed by Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed satisfaction over the successful negotiation of a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. Mr. Nikorndej Plangool, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry, emphasized that this development aligns with Thailand's approach to promoting lasting peace. He urged Thai citizens to refrain from traveling to the area, advising them to wait for official announcements from the embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nikorndej Plangool conveyed the Ministry's delight with the ceasefire agreement, expressing hope that it will lead to enduring peace. He mentioned that while no formal statements have been issued, the agreement is in line with Thailand's aspirations for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Israel and neighboring regions. Mr. Nikorndet further cautioned Thais in the region to remain vigilant. He stressed the continued risks associated with traveling to areas of conflic t, advising against entering unless absolutely necessary. The Ministry has instructed Israel to enforce prohibitions on Thai entry into military zones, urging Thai citizens and workers to comply with directives from the embassy in Tel Aviv and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In response to inquiries about the potential for a similar ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Mr. Nikorndet expressed hope for a peaceful resolution and highlighted Thailand's commitment to ensuring the safety and release of six hostages, which remains a priority for the Thai government. Addressing concerns about conflicts beyond Israel, particularly in Europe, Mr. Nikorndet noted the Thai government's close monitoring of the situation. While acknowledging efforts to end the war, he expressed concern over the spread of conflicts, which contradicts Thailand's principles of peaceful resolution. He emphasized the need for continued vigilance and daily monitoring of the evolving situation.
