SAMUT PRAKAN: A fire erupted early this morning at a synthetic fiber factory in the Bang Pu area of Samut Prakan, leading to a substantial response from local fire control units. The blaze, which began at approximately 7:00 a.m., initially started in Warehouse 3 and quickly spread to adjacent structures within the facility. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries have been reported.
According to Thai News Agency, over 30 water trucks were dispatched to combat the fire, which proved challenging due to the extensive heat and structural collapses of some buildings. The factory, located in Soi Thesaban Bang Pu 71/1, was largely unoccupied at the time due to the New Year's holiday, with only two technicians present on the premises. Both technicians were reportedly unharmed as the fire broke out in a building where no one was present and no machinery was operational.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The affected area primarily served as a storage site for synthetic fibers used in car seat manufacturing. Officials are working to maintain control over the situation, with no indications of the fire spreading to nearby properties. The fire's containment has been successful, and authorities are continuing to monitor the site closely.
