Chinese Man Rescued After Three Days Trapped in Well Near Thai-Myanmar Border.

Mae Sot: Soldiers from the 433rd Company, Rajamanu Special Task Force, successfully rescued a Chinese man who had fallen into a well near the Thai-Myanmar border, where he remained trapped for three days. According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred while the soldiers were on a routine patrol in Mae Sot District, Tak Province. Their mission was to prevent illegal immigration and the importation of drugs from neighboring countries. During their patrol near Ban Wang Takhian, Tha Sai Lot Subdistrict, the soldiers heard what seemed to be a cry for help emanating from the forest. Initially unsure of the source due to the darkness, they eventually determined it to be a human voice and decided to investigate further. The soldiers traced the calls to a pond, where they discovered a man, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, trapped at the bottom of a 10-meter deep well. The man, who was wearing only shorts and spoke no Thai, was identified as Chinese based on his speech. Weary and in distress, he was asking for help. The soldiers promptly radioed for assistance, and rescue workers from Mae Sot arrived to aid in the man's extraction from the well. Once rescued, he was transported to Mae Sot Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Through an interpreter, the man expressed his gratitude towards the Thai soldiers and rescue team, acknowledging that their timely intervention likely saved his life as he had begun to weaken and had been without sleep for three days. Authorities, including the Immigration Police, are now investigating the circumstances that led to the man's fall into the well. They are working to understand his activities in the area at the time of the incident.
