Chartthaipattana Party resolution authorizes party leader to appoint people to positions

'Nikorn' points out that the executive committee and party resolutions give full authority to the leader of Chartthaipattana Party (CTP) to take any action regarding political participation and appointing people to positions. Mr. Nikorn Chamnong, Director of Chartthaipattana Party, mentioned the case of the former executive committee of the party and the former strategy and public relations committee of the party who resigned from being members of Chartthaipattana Party, citing dissatisfaction with the political operations of Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the leader of Chartthaipattana Party, who joined the government of Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, without holding a meeting of the executive committee to seek opinions first. He said that the leader of Chartthaipattana Party currently has full authority to conduct political operations according to the party's regulations and resolutions, as the party resolved at the 4/2566 executive committee meeting on July 11, 66, regarding the consideratio n of the political operations of Chartthaipattana Party. In the meeting, he, as the chairman of the policy committee and the party director, proposed to the meeting that due to the urgent time and the current political situation that can change all the time, for the sake of flexibility, it is considered that it should be done as has always been done, which is to give full authority to the party leader to do anything related to participating in political work. Mr. Nikorn said that in addition to the party regulations, Section 22 (6) stipulates the power and duties of the party leader that in the event of necessity to carry out political activities, he shall have the power to act on behalf of the party with the approval of the party executive committee of no less than half of the number of the party executive committees at that time, and such action shall be considered a party resolution. Therefore, it is proposed to grant full authority to the party leader to carry out any action related to political particip ation, and such action shall be considered a party resolution, which the party executive committee meeting resolved to grant full authority to the party leader to carry out any action related to political participation, and such action shall be considered a party resolution. Mr. Nikorn said that for the consideration of the list of persons to be appointed as political positions in the meeting, he, as the chairman of the policy committee and party director, explained to the meeting that according to the party regulations, Article 107, stipulates that in the event of appointing a person to a political position, the party must announce to the general public to invite the party executive committee, party branch committee, provincial party representatives, and party members to propose the names of persons who are deemed appropriate to be considered for appointment as political positions to the party executive committee. The party executive committee must consider selecting persons who have the qualifications and do not have the prohibited characteristics as specified by law, and are persons who are knowledgeable, capable, honest, and have morality and ethics from the list of persons proposed by the party executive committee, party branch committee, provincial party representatives, or party members to be appointed as political positions. According to the said regulations, the party has already announced to the general public by announcing on the party website since 27 June 2023. The party executive committee, party branch committee, provincial party representatives, and party members have proposed the names of persons who are deemed appropriate to be considered for appointment as political positions in the form of documents to the party.
