“Anutin” opens the Royal Fabric Pattern Contest

"Anutin" presided over the opening ceremony of the Royal Fabric Pattern Contest "Siriwachiraphon Fabric Pattern", aiming to promote producers, entrepreneurs, weavers and handicrafts as a model for developing the skills of Thai fabric products, upgrading and increasing the value of Thai local wisdom.

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the opening ceremony of the Royal Fabric Pattern Contest 'Siriwachiraphorn Fabric Pattern' and handicrafts under the project to promote wisdom and develop the potential of Thai fabrics and handicrafts in the semi-final round at the national level. He said that Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya designed the Royal Fabric Pattern 'Siriwachiraphorn Fabric Pattern' to express her loyalty in offering auspicious blessings to His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024 and to be granted as a model for producers, entrepreneurs, weavers and handicrafts to have a model in developing weaving skills in all techniques to be of quality, diverse and apply contemporary patterns and colors by incorporating natural things around us while still maintaining the identity of each locality. Emphasis is placed on the use of natural colors, sil k, and cotton threads and the use of local materials, which are the foundations of Sustainable Fashion or 'sustainable fashion', which the Ministry of Interior We will continue our mission to promote Thai fabrics continuously to enhance and add value to fabrics that come from the local wisdom of Thai people so that they can generate income and improve the quality of life for the people.

For the royal fabric patterns 'Siriwachiraphon Pattern Fabric', Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya designed and granted the initial patterns in 4 categories: Kab Bua Fabric, Raised Fabric, Jok, Khit, Phraewa, Mudmee Pattern, and Batik. The public can take these 4 main royal fabric patterns and weave them together with local wisdom patterns according to their creativity to create and develop Thai fabric products in every locality.
