Unstable weather, all regions at risk of heavy rain 19-21 Oct.

The Meteorological Department has announced a warning about unstable weather conditions from another cold air mass spreading down to cover the area while the monsoon trough is passing through the central southern region, causing rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in all regions, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas from Oct 19-21, 2024. Ms. Sukanya Yawincharn, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Acting Director-General of the Meteorological Department, signed an announcement of the Meteorological Department warning of unstable weather in Thailand during October 19-21, 2024, as another high-pressure area or cold air mass from China will spread to cover the upper North, upper Northeast, and the South China Sea, resulting in easterly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to cover the upper part of Thailand, while the monsoon trough passes through the central South. This will cause more thunderstorms and heavy rain in many areas of the upper part of Thailand, with strong gusts of wind in some areas. The South will continue to experience continuous rain and heavy rain in some areas, with very heavy rain in some areas in the East and the East Coast of the South. People in Thailand are asked to be careful of dangers from thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides near waterways and lowlands. Avoid being in open areas, under large trees and weak billboards, and take care of your health due to the changing weather conditions. The provinces expected to be affected are as follows: October 19, 2024 Northeastern region includes Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani. Central region includes Suphan Buri, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Eastern region includes Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Southern region includes Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. October 20, 2024 The northern region includes Tak and Kamphaeng Phet provinces. The northeastern region includes Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, and Surin provinces. The central region includes Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, as well as Bangkok and its vicinity. The eastern region includes Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces. The southern region includes Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket provinces. October 21, 2024: The north ern region includes Tak and Kamphaeng Phet provinces; the central region includes Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Samut Songkhram provinces; and the southern region includes Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket provinces. For waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, they will be stronger. The Andaman Sea will have waves 1-2 meters high, the Gulf of Thailand will have waves approximately 1 meter high, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand should avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
