Tron District Faces Severe Flooding, Hospital Services Disrupted

Tron district: Tron District, Uttaradit Province, is heavily flooded, with water overflowing into communities and hospitals.

According to Thai News Agency, water levels remain high in several areas in Tron District, particularly in Ban Kaeng Subdistrict, where the Tron Canal and Nan River meet. Residents are experiencing power cuts in several areas for safety reasons. Meanwhile, Tron District Hospital is facing extensive flooding across the entire facility.

Floodwaters have inundated several areas, especially Ban Kaeng Tai in Ban Kaeng Subdistrict, with water levels remaining high throughout the day and worsening at night. Some villagers have chosen to stay at home to protect their property, hoping for the water levels to recede soon.

Tron District Hospital has been severely affected by floodwaters exceeding one meter in depth. An aerial view reveals that the entire hospital is flooded. Dr. Peerasan Pankong, director of Tron Hospital, reported that after the flooding, all patients were evacuated, but significant damage to medical equipment is expected to delay the resumption of services by two to three weeks.

Throughout the day, officials and rescue teams from various units have been mobilized to assist villagers in affected communities. Bin Banleurit led the Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue team, continuing rescue efforts despite a boat accident that resulted in the loss of one of their boats.

Predictions suggest that if there is no additional rainfall, the floodwaters affecting four sub-districts in Tron District may begin to recede by tonight, with hopes for drier conditions by tomorrow. However, low-lying areas along the river may continue to experience flooding for another one to two days.

Ban Kaeng Subdistrict is the downstream area of Tron District, and water from this region will continue to flow towards Phichai and Phrom Phiram Districts in Phitsanulok Province. Residents are advised to stay informed through local news updates.
