Tourists Flock to Khao Yai Thiang and Hmong New Year Celebrations in Northeast Thailand

Nakhon Ratchasima: Tourists are flocking to Khao Yai Thiang, a renowned landmark in Korat, to enjoy the cool breeze and scenic views, while others participate in the unique Hmong New Year celebration at Ban Tub Kho, Dan Sai District, Loei Province. Alongside these attractions, Koh Lipe has become a popular destination for New Year festivities, drawing both Thai and international visitors.

According to Thai News Agency, Khao Yai Thiang in Nakhon Ratchasima Province is bustling with tourists eager to experience the natural beauty of the area. Visitors are drawn to the breathtaking views from the upper reservoir of the Lam Takhong Chonlapawatana Power Plant, famous for its 14 giant wind turbines. The site offers options for renting bicycles or golf carts to explore the picturesque surroundings, making it an ideal spot for families and friends to gather and enjoy the scenery.

The Hmong New Year celebration in Ban Tub Kho, Loei Province, stands out as the only event of its kind in Northeast Thailand. This cultural tradition is significant for the Hmong community, serving as a family reunion and an opportunity for young villagers to find partners. The event features traditional sports competitions and games, creating a vibrant atmosphere where community bonds are strengthened.

Meanwhile, the tourist islands of Koh Adang, Rawi, and Lipe are experiencing a surge in visitors, especially from foreign countries. Koh Lipe, in particular, has seen an influx of international tourists from Malaysia, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang, many of whom stay for extended periods. In Chonburi, Pattaya and Koh Larn are also witnessing a high volume of tourists. Bali Hai Pier is bustling with visitors eager to explore Koh Larn's beaches and marine activities. Authorities have increased security and convenience measures to accommodate the influx of tourists. However, travelers are advised to exercise caution when booking accommodations, as fraudulent pages have been reported, leading to financial losses for some.
