Comptroller General’s Department Revises Training Costs to Boost Domestic Tourism

Bangkok: The Comptroller General's Department has announced adjustments to the food and accommodation rates for training programs, aligning with the "Travel Well, Get a Refund" initiative aimed at supporting government agencies in organizing training seminars.

According to Thai News Agency, Director-General Ms. Patricia Mongkolvanich revealed that the Cabinet approved measures to stimulate domestic tourism, tasking the Ministry of Finance with reviewing the accommodation and food rental rates for domestic training. This move aims to ensure these rates are in line with the current cost of living. The Comptroller General's Department, responsible for overseeing the disbursement of training expenses, has subsequently adjusted the rates for domestic training programs.

The revised rates detail that food costs for training at government premises or private locations have been adjusted. For Training Type A, food costs per day per person are capped at 1,100 Baht at government premises and 1,500 Baht at private locations. For Type B training and outsider training, the rates are capped at 750 Baht and 1,200 Baht respectively.

Additionally, accommodation rental fees have been revised. For Training Type A, the single room rental fee is capped at 2,700 Baht, and the double room rental fee at 1,500 Baht. For Type B training and outsider training, the fees are capped at 1,600 Baht for single rooms and 1,000 Baht for double rooms.

Ms. Mongkolvanich further explained that these adjustments are based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and mark a change from the 2013 rates. The revisions are intended to reflect current economic conditions and help stimulate the domestic economy.
