28-year-old woman goes crazy, crashes into 8 cars in a row, holds gun and threatens tourists

A 28-year-old woman went crazy and crashed into 8 cars in a row. She was hallucinating that someone was trying to hurt her, so she took a gun and ran out to threaten foreign tourists who were riding in a tuk-tuk, causing the tourists to flee in panic. Ms. Wiphani (pseudonym), aged 28, was arrested by Thung Maha Mek Police Station with evidence of a 9 mm automatic gun and an empty magazine at the Sathon Nuea Road intersection, Thung Maha Mek Subdistrict, Sathon District, Bangkok. Last night (25 Sept), while traffic police were directing traffic at the Saint Yo intersection, they received a report from the radio center to intercept a Toyota car that had hit several cars and fled. They radioed to intercept it, before finding the car that caused the accident on the sidewalk with scratches all around it and the right side of the car was still crushed by a taxi, causing damage. The perpetrator was a young woman who was acting crazy and ran with a gun to threaten three foreign tourists who were passengers in a t uk-tuk, causing the driver and the tourists to flee in panic. People in the area were shocked all over the street. After arresting the woman, who was in a state of frenzy, she used a gun to hit the left face of Sgt. Sthaporn Phanngam, the commander of the traffic unit, causing injury. A search of the perpetrator's car found a knife with a pointed tip under the driver's seat, along with a document transferring the gun used in the incident, which was seized as evidence. The perpetrator stated that he was a Bolt driver and left his house on Ratchaphruek Road, Thonburi side, to pick up a friend at Hua Lamphong. When he arrived in front of the Kronos building, he saw a Honda car driving from Witthayu Intersection and making a sudden U-turn, which he could not avoid in time and hit the rear of the car on the left. He then lost consciousness and felt pressured, so he drove and hit cars everywhere until the car hit the sidewalk. He could not drive any further and still felt like someone was trying to hurt him, so h e took a gun and ran out to threaten the people in the tuk-tuk. However, the gun did not have any bullets because he had just bought it a few days ago for 25,000 baht through a floating transfer and his name had not yet been put in the owner’s name. From asking relatives, it was revealed that the perpetrator took sedatives before leaving the house and had a history of being treated at Somdej Chaopraya Hospital. As for the cars that were damaged in this incident, there were a total of 8 cars. Initially, he was charged with “possession of a firearm without permission, carrying a firearm in a city or village without permission, and reckless driving causing damage to property.” Other charges are pending questioning of the victims of the incident.
