Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir met with Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono (HB X) here on Monday to discuss the construction of a toll road and Borobudur Temple tourism.
According to the Sultan, they discussed land acquisition and development surrounding the construction of the toll road that will pass through the Yogyakarta area.
“Earlier, we had a talk; for me, there should be certainty for toll road as well as certainty for Borobudur,” he remarked after the closed meeting with Minister Thohir.
“Therefore (the construction of the toll road in Yogyakarta), will include SOEs as executors,” the Yogyakarta Governor said.
The two also discussed the tourism development program for Borobudur Temple, which would have an impact on the Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang (Joglosemar) areas, he said.
There needs to be clarity on the division of space for the implementation of the program to ensure against clashes because it involves various agencies, he said.
“Because it also concerns several SOEs, especially Borobudur and Prambanan, which have also been managed by the Borobudur-Prambanan SOE (PT TWC). I don’t want there to be a clash with the Borobudur authorities because in the program the certainty, I think, is not clear,” he elaborated.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Yogyakarta Administration Kadarmanta Baskara Aji said that Sultan HB X and Minister Thohir also discussed securing food availability, in accordance with the establishment of the National Food Agency (BPN).
BPN will specifically handle food security, both in terms of availability and price stability for rice, corn, and soybeans, he informed.
“In Yogyakarta, the three commodities are vulnerable because there can be a surplus or shortage at certain times,” Baskara Aji said.
