‘The King’ bestows wreaths to be placed in front of the coffins of the victims of the bus fire.

His Majesty the King placed wreaths in front of the coffins of the victims of the school bus accident and offered encouragement to the families of the deceased, while the atmosphere during the first night of the chanting of Buddhist scriptures was filled with sadness. At 5:00 p.m., His Majesty the King graciously ordered General Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council, to place the wreaths of His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and members of the Royal Family in front of the coffins of the victims of the field trip bus fire inside the multipurpose building of Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School, Uthai Thani Province. The President of the Privy Council conveyed the concerns of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, understanding their grief and sorrow from this incident, to the families of the deceased, and gave encouragement to the bereaved families and presided over the first night of the chanting ceremony. His Majesty graciously accepted the body of the deceased under royal patr onage and granted a special cremation to the deceased, granted financial assistance for funeral arrangements to the family of the deceased, and granted scholarships to the children of the deceased teacher through the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage. For the first night of chanting, there were Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Surasak Pancharoenvorakul, Deputy Minister of Education, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, Acting Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, civil servants from various agencies, along with the families and relatives of the deceased who are still in mourning, some of whom are still unable to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones. Before the chanting of prayers, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke to encourage the families and relatives of the deceased and paid his respects to the bodies of the deceased. While the Educatio n Minister has provided compensation money to the families of the deceased and injured, and presented honorary pins to teachers and janitors who were at the scene and helped until they were injured, before expressing his condolences and giving encouragement to the parents of the deceased. The agencies in the Education Ministry have joined together to make merit for the children and teachers who died, including wishing the other three injured students a speedy recovery. He also praised the teachers and janitors for their sacrifice, doing an excellent job, and being able to take care of the children so that they are mentally strong and not overly excited.
