SIX KILLED, 10 MISSING IN INDONESIAN FLOOD

JAKARTA, Indonesia, The Regent of Gowa regency, in Indonesia’s South Sulawesi province, said, on Tuesday, that, six residents were killed, in flood and landslide, following the spillover of the Jeneberang river.

The river’s spillover forced the Bili-bili to open the water-gate that eventually led to the flood, Gowa Regent, Adnan Purichta Ichsan, said.

The river’s spillover occurred, following heavy downpour with strong winds since Monday, he said.

He added that, 10 others were reported missing by families in the affected areas.

Besides damaging residential houses, the flood also broke four bridges in the regency, said the official.
