SEA Games 2025 Thailand: A Challenge

Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) confirmed that the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games will proceed as planned to the best of their ability, with the goal of becoming the SEA Games gold medalist. According to Thai News Agency, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), in collaboration with Kasembundit University, organized an academic seminar titled "Thailand's 2025 SEA Games: A Challenge." Khunying Pathama Leeswadtrakul, International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the Badminton World Federation, presided over the opening ceremony. Also in attendance were Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand; Mr. Somporn Usibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand; Maj. Gen. Intharat Yodbangtoey, President of the Federation of National Sports Associations; Dr. Wallop Suwandee, President of Kasembundit University; Mr. Thirachai Wuttitham, President of the Bangkok Sports Association; Thawatchai "Coach Wang" Damrong-Ongtrakul, Head Coach of t he Thailand U23 National Football Team; and members of the media. The seminar was part of a collaborative effort to foster public participation and stimulate interest, and publicize Thailand's readiness. Khunying Pattama expressed confidence that everyone will work together to present new standards, integrating cutting-edge technology with a focus on sustainability and uniqueness for hosting the SEA Games. A key challenge for this SEA Games is mobilizing the strength to regain the gold medal lead. She is confident that Thailand can do this, and raising awareness as host. She believes the SEA Games will impress and inspire athletes throughout ASEAN and around the world. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), confirmed that preparations for hosting the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games are proceeding according to plan. The SAT, along with the National Olympic Committee of Thailand and the Paralympic Committee of Thailand, continue to work diligently. The goal for this edition i s to ensure Thailand wins the gold medals and also create value for the SEA Games. Regarding the budget, there should be no problem. The proposal will be submitted in accordance with established procedures and systems. The SAT is ready to proceed with hosting the best possible event. The 33rd SEA Games will feature 50 sports and 3 demonstration sports, competing for 574 gold medals. Thailand will host the games in three provinces: Songkhla, Chonburi, and Bangkok, from December 9-20, followed by the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima Province from January 20-26 next year.
