Jakarta (ANTARA News) – General Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto (SBY), affirmed that the General Chairman of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono never demanded the position of vice presidential candidate in 2019 Presidential Election.

“I want to emphasize that SBY has not demanded a certain vice presidential name on behalf of the person or the Democratic Party,” Prabowo stated, after his meeting with SBY in Jakarta, on Monday.

According to him, SBYs attitude was an honor for him as he has gained confidence in determining the vice president.

But he stressed that the name of the vice president will be discussed further in the next meeting with PAN and PKS as coalition parties.

“It is an honor for me. Certainly, we will discuss the president-vice presidential candidate, which is a crucial one,” he remarked.

Prabowo noted that Gerindra party will keep a close watch on the development of political maps in the next 10 days, ahead of the closing of the president-vice president registration on Aug 10, 2018.

He explained that Gerindra Party will continue to communicate with coalition partners to formulate the vision and mission and strategy of taking part in the 2019 presidential election.
