PT LRT Jakarta converts office space into COVID isolation shelter

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Management of Jakarta’s light rail transit (LRT), PT LRT Jakarta, is converting one of its offices in North Jakarta into an isolation shelter for residents in the area who have contracted COVID-19.

Chief Executive Officer of PT LRT Jakarta, on Tuesday, said that the independent isolation shelter was initially established for employees of PT Jakpro who had been exposed to the virus.

However, the company then collaborated with other stakeholders, including the Indonesian Red Cross and the City Government of North Jakarta, to have the facilities also be opened to the public living in the area. The isolation shelter is constructed on two floors with 21 rooms of varying capacities.

It is also equipped with a shared kitchen, air conditioners in every room, as well a wireless Internet connection.

There are two units that have been occupied by three people. During their isolation period, patients were given access to telemedicine services via instant messenger applications involving health workers who check on their medication intakes, conditions, symptoms and body temperature.
