New Students Got Closer to Faculty of Agricultural Technology of IPB

A total of 490 new students of 53rd batch followed the faculty introduction activity in Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Saturday (27/8), located in Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor. These students were invited to get to know the Faculty of Agricultural Technology and the academic culture through the activities on the theme of “Fateta Galaxy”.

President of Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of IPB, Rangga Aflianto, conveyed, the series of activities among them were filled with the explanation of IPB and the faculty, the introduction of student organization of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, and the faculty tour to visit the laboratory and the places frequented by the students of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. “The purpose of this activity is to introduce the campus world from the level of IPB to the faculty level, so that the students of 53rd batch can recognize clearly the faculty environment and interact with all lecturers, employees or staff in the lecture hall,” he said.

Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of IPB, Prof.Dr. Kudang Boro Seminar, introduced the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of IPB which was founded since 1964. He said, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of IPB had grown both quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitative development included the facilities and the infrastructures of Tri Dharma, the number of lecturers, the education personnel, and the number of students. While the qualitative development included the realm of science, the curriculum, the research, the patents and innovation, the national and international accreditation, the award for the academic community, as well as the recognition of national and international cooperation.

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology had four departments namely Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystem (TMB), Department of Food Science and Technology (ITP), Department of Agricultural Industry Technology (TIN), and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SIL). The Faculty of Agricultural Technology had two laboratories which had already received the certificate of ISO 17025 from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) namely Laboratory of Food Analysis Services (Department of ITP) and Laboratory of Water Quality Testing (Department of TIN).
