Jakarta New Year festival stages set up at seven locations

Jakarta The Jakarta Transportation Office has said that the 2023 New Year Night Festival stages have been set up at seven locations for visitors.

 

“There are stages at seven locations, such as stage 1 at Sarinah, stage 2 at Bundaran HI, and stage 3 at Dukuh Atas,” Head of the office Syafrin Liputo informed in an official statement released on Saturday.

 

Festival stages have also been set up at JPON Sudirman, Bendungan Hilir, SCBD at the Tulodong Atas 2-Sudirman intersection, as well as SCBD at the Tulodong Atas 2-Pintu Satu Senayan intersection.

 

The seven stages will feature different music genres from pop Top 40, dangdut, 60’s jazz, and retro pop, to betawi. The 2023 New Year Night Festival on M.H. Thamrin and Jenderal Sudirman will begin at 8 p.m. and end at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday.

 

Parking facilities have been arranged for visitors at 40 locations, such as at IRTI Monas, TPE Sabang, Central Pertamina Office, Sarinah Thamrin Building, Plaza Indonesia, BNI 46 Office, FX Sudirman Mall, Midplaza Building, and Gelora Bung Karno.

 

“People who will head toward the activity location are implored to use public transportation,” Liputo said.

 

The public transportation includes Corridor 1 TransJakarta, which will be available from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. local time. People can use it on the southern route up to the Polda TransJakarta Stop and turn left to Gatot Subroto-Kota. Visitors can also take a TransJakarta bus headed north till the Harmoni TransJakarta Stop and turn right to Suryopranoto-Blok M.

 

Meanwhile, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and KRL will operate until 2 a.m. local time on Sunday.

 

In addition to the stages, the Jakarta provincial government has also organized a light show at Monas to enliven the new year celebrations.
