IPB again releases 1184 graduates of the Diploma Program

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again held a graduation ceremony and gave certificates to 1184 graduates of the Diploma Program. This was held for two days (23-24 / 8) at Graha Widya Wisuda, the Graduation Building, Darmaga Campus of IPB Bogor. Rector’s congratulation was delivered to all graduates and the best graduates. They are Bagas Privariandito of the Communication Program, Ari Sujiar of the Industrial Management of Food Service and Nutrition , Rahmi Mahanani of the Seed Industrial Technology, Disraeli Boihandi Sembiring of the Livestock Management and Technology, Cindy Oktria Irwan of the Industrial Management, Zulaeha of the Chemical Analysis, Tri Noviyanti Nurzanah of the Engineering and Environmental Management, Rafif of the Accounting Program, Zakiyah Azzahroh of the Veterinary Paramedics Program, Hardi of the Plantation Production Technology and Management and Amanda of the Production Technology and Management of Aquaculture.

In his speech, Rector mentioned various developments of IPB’s Diploma Program, for example the Diploma Program have held exchanges of lecturers and researchers, collaborative applied research, student exchanges, online learning, digital development classes, the communication platform between vocational schools, and competency certification. In 2014, two consortia were established: Indonesia-Thailand Agriculture Consortium and Indonesia-Thailand Fisheries Consortium, in which cooperation can be made between universities and done together. IPB’s Diploma Program has also developed cooperation in the form of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Higher Education in Thailand, China, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and Vietnam in 2015-2016. Additionally, IPB’s Diploma Program will also develop TVET with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and has joined the SEA-TVET Polytechnic Network program with partner universities in Germany, Japan and Korea in 2016.

Not only that, from 29 to 31 August, IPB’s Diploma will send students in the 1st Young SEA-TVET Symposium in Krabi, Thailand. It is organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Secretariat (SEAMEO Secretariat) to establish technical cooperation, education and skill training among faculty members and students of vocational schools in Southeast Asia.

Cooperation in the home country is also carried out with similar vocational colleges in the form of Vocational Higher Education Forum of Indonesia (FPTVI) in which the Diploma Program of IPB as vice-chairman of the forum initiates the proposed tool of BAN PT accreditation especially for the vocational education, pioneers competency certification through the Chamber of Commerce, ASPINDO, and BNSP, and encourages the establishment of Independent Accreditation Agency for vocational education.

IPB’s Diploma Program is also developing partnerships with seven Professional Certification Institutes (LSP) for a Competency Test, two of which are already established, namely Competency Test of Taxation and Competency Test of Indonesian Crops and Horticulture.

On this occasion, Rector said that since 2013, IPB’s Diploma has been entrusted by the Directorate General of Higher Education to conduct a pioneering program of Community Colleges in the form of Study Programs outside Domicile (PDD) and Diploma Two (D2) and Diploma One (D1). The initial stage of this program was conducted jointly by the four Local Governments, namely Aceh Tamiang Regency, Enrekang Regency (South Sulawesi), Lembata Regency (East Nusa Tenggara) and Yapen Islands (Papua). This outside-domicile educational program is tailored to the local potential and needs of human resources.

West Java Governor officially launched the IPB campus outside the domicile in Sukabumi n May 3, 2016 ago. This year, it opens four Programs, two of which are D3 programs of Technology and Livestock Management and Production Technology and Management of Aquaculture. Meanwhile the S-1 program offers the study program of Agronomy and Horticulture and the study program of Agricultural Economics, Resources, and Environment. (Mtd)
