Industry Ministry develops digital CDC for vocational students

The Industry Ministry’s Industry Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) has developed a Digital Career Development Center (CDC) to provide industrial vocational students with information related to job openings and job fairs.

“The development of the CDC is driven by the talent of students within the ministry’s education unit that have not been monitored optimally,” BPSDMI head Arus Gunawan said in a statement issued on Monday.

“Several education units already have a unit similar to CDC, but it has not been integrated with the central office,” he added.

The digital CDC will not only assist vocational graduates, but it can also be used by vocational students as a facility to screen for talents, interests, and jobs that match their education.

The platform, which seeks to connect vocational students with industrial companies, can be accessed via the website cdcbpsdmi.kemenperin.go.id.

“The existence of the CDC aligns with the ministry’s vocational education vision, which is becoming an organizer for excellent, international-level industrial vocational education,” he said.

Companies that seek to obtain information on industrial vocational students’ profiles, including their educational competence, can utilize a feature named “Tracer Study.”

“For industrial companies, information integrated within the CDC can help in human resource recruitment,” Gunawan informed.

“Industrial companies can also provide suggestions and inputs related to industrial human resources, such as what competencies that the industry currently needs so that they can be included within students’ curriculum,” he said.

Users who seek to utilize the platform’s entire features, both vocational students and industrial companies, will need to register themselves by contacting the admin for the verification process.

There are two types of user accounts, job seeker accounts for students and alumni as well as candidate seeker accounts for industrial companies.

BPDMI CDC’s dashboard has several features, including career tips, job openings, industrial work practice, interest and talent tests, TopEdu training, scholarship information, and career consultation.

“In the future, we expect more collaboration in the effort to improve the quality of the BPSDMI Career Development Center to realize vocational education that matches the industry’s needs,” he said.

“We expect that, through this CDC innovation, there are more vocational school graduates accepted in the industry,” he said.
