Indonesian squad confident as it faces Vietnam

The Indonesian soccer squad (Timnas) “Garuda” is confident as it is all set to play against the Vietnamese team in the semifinal of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki 2016 championship on Saturday (Dec 3).

The match will be held in Pakansari stadium, Cibinong sub-district, West Java Province. Vietnam emerged as the winner of group B.

“The match (tomorrow) will be different. But, in principle, we will not make many changes because this is the best team we have today,” the Timnas coach, Alfred Riedl, told the press in Bogor on Friday.

Two players, namely Fachruddin Ariyanto and Yanto Basna, will not be fielded, and the coach has prepared other players to replace them.

So, Fachruddin Ariyanto and Yanto Basna would be replaced from among Gunawan Dwi Cahyo, Manahati Lestusen and Hansamu Yama Pratama.

The Indonesian soccer squad (Timnas) “Garuda” ensured a place in the semifinal after beating Singapore 2-1 (0-1 at half time) at the Ridzal Memorial Stadium, Manila, the Philippines, on Friday (November 25), and emerging runners-up in group A, with four points. Thailand topped group A with nine points after beating Philippines 1-0 the same day.
