INAPGOC to invite disabled community for Asian Para Games

Jakarta (ANTARA News) – The Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) will invite the disabled community that rides three-wheeled vehicles to support the Asian Para Games 2018 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta.

“Some 30 (three-wheeled) motorcycle users have been registered by the committee for the event. Some 20 users are in Jakarta, and the rest are in Yogyakarta,” Raja Sapta Oktohari, the INAPGOC chairman, stated here on Monday.

He stressed that the organizing committee will continue to invite other three-wheeled vehicle users to volunteer during the paralympic event.

Oktohari stated that these volunteers will support all disabled athletes during the multi-sport competition to be organized at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Oct 6-13.

During the Asian Para Games 2018, all three-wheeled vehicles will be assessorized and redesigned based on some heroes characters.

“These heroes characters will mark our strong passion to earn victory in the competition,” Oktohari, who also serves as the Indonesian Cycling Federation (ISSI) chairman, noted.

Apart from inviting three-wheeled vehicle users, the organizing committee has also called other members of the community to sign up as volunteers for the Asian Para Games 2018.

Following the 18th Asian Games, the Asian Para Games 2018 will be held in Jakarta comprising 17 sport categories.

Indonesian para-athletes are currently undergoing training centered in Solo, Central Java.

Similar to their counterparts in the Asian Games, the paralympic athletes for the Asian Para Games will also earn Rp1.5 billion if they succeed in winning gold medals.
