Bangkok: The government has expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic response to the VIJIT CHAO PHRAYA 2024 event, which is projected to generate a revenue of no less than 1 billion baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mr. Karom Polpornklang shared that the event, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand from November 16 to December 15, 2024, is a significant part of the Thailand Winter Festivals 2024. The initiative involves collaboration between the government and private sector partners to enhance the Chao Phraya River’s appeal with lights and cultural performances at night.
The event aims to attract both Thai and foreign tourists to appreciate Thailand’s landmarks along the Chao Phraya River. The occasion will feature a blend of traditional Thai arts, culture, modern architecture, and captivating lights, enhancing Bangkok’s charm and creating business opportunities for various operators along the river. The response has been positive, with an expected attendance
of no fewer than 500,000 tourists, boosting year-end tourism and aiming to generate significant revenue.
The government is inviting locals and international visitors to participate in this grand event, which will showcase a phenomenon of light, color, projection mapping on buildings, fireworks, and cultural performances at key locations along the Chao Phraya River. A special invitation is extended to witness a spectacular drone display and a Light Up Light Installation Illumination technique, complemented by a breathtaking fireworks display at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan. These performances are scheduled for December 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15, 2024, at 7:50 p.m.
