Five passengers of sunken boat rescued by Jambi water police

Jambi (ANTARA) – Five people were pulled out of the waters of Kuala Parit by the Jambi water police after their boat succumbed to high waves and sank on Sunday (Apr 7).

Officers of the water police patrolling the area spotted five people in the waters, as their boat began sinking, Senior Commissioner Fauzi Bachti Muchji revealed here on Tuesday.

“During that time, our officers noticed that the people were struggling to stay afloat in the waters, so they approached the victims to help them. A boat sank after being hit by waves,” he noted.

Those who survived the boat-sinking incident are the residents of Kampung Laut, East Tanjung Jabung District, Jambi Province.

The rescued people were then dashed to a medical post located in proximity. They are currently reported to be in good condition.
