Digital solutions expected to help MSMEs survive: LinkAja

Digital solutions can help micro, small, and medium (MSMEs) enterprises to survive, and even raise their status, according to an official from LinkAja, an electronic money service from Telkomsel and members of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

“Digital solutions must be able to provide benefits based on current limitations, such as limitations of skill, capital, time,” chief operating officer (COO) of LinkAja, Widjayanto Djaenudin, said at a webinar.

To support MSMEs, LinkAja has provided several supports, he said in a statement here on Tuesday

“One of them is a business digitalization platform, such as Mini POS System, which is expected to improve MSMEs’ managerial skills in managing cash flow by recording transactions digitally,” he elaborated.

Moreover, LinkAja is also disseminating information on the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) for digital payments using digital wallets and mobile banking, Djaenudin added.

The digital finance service is expanding its business by providing digital products that could raise MSMEs’ revenue, he said adding, it is also streamlining capital access for MSMEs so they can build their businesses without relying on collateral.

LinkAja is also offering an MSME empowerment program through community involvement and partnerships with professionals to drive the development of MSMEs, Djaenudin informed.

“LinkAja, as a fintech company, helps the public to utilize technology in order to support productivity and provide social benefits, including to MSMEs, by providing a broader access,” he elaborated.

“As a form of LinkAja’s commitment to empower MSMEs through merchant engagement to support the development of MSMEs, the company has three MSMEs empowerment programs — Class & Workshop, Mentoring, and Monitoring,” he said.

Djaenudin urged all agencies to provide support to MSMEs so that they can survive using technology.

“LinkAja is focusing on the MSME segment and mass-aspirant citizens in order to encourage financial and economic inclusion to improve the growth of the national economy,” he added.
