Court permits former MP Gular Ahmadova to leave Azerbaijan

The Baku Court of Appeals has cancelled the decision of the Baku City Yasamal District Court and allowed the former MP Gular Ahmadova to leave the country for three months.

Earlier, Ahmadova filed a request for lifting the restrictions on her leaving the country to be operated on abroad. The Baku City Yasamal District Court rejected her request.

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office launched a criminal case in 2012 based on footage depicting the MP Gular Ahmadova and former rector of the Azerbaijan International University, Elshad Abdullayev.

The footage showed them discussing the transfer of a bribe in a large amount.
