Clear legal mechanism needed to build connections: agusman

Jakarta (ANTARA News) – The presence of a clear legal and doctrine mechanism is essential in building connections and bridging gaps between international and national laws.

“It will result in Indonesias firm response towards the implementation of international law,” Director General for Legal Affairs and International Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Damos Dumoli Agusman, noted in a statement here on Tuesday.

The statement was delivered during the discussion on ?The Implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolutions into Indonesian National Law” in Bandung (July 23).

“This event is a timely follow-up to Indonesias election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2019-2020,” he remarked.

The meeting was hosted by the Directorate General of Legal Affairs and International Treaties, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of Padjadjaran University (FH UNPAD).

(Honorable Justice at Indonesian Supreme Court), Dr. Idris, S.H., M.A. (International Law Professor at the Faculty of Law of Padjadjaran University), and Grata Endah Werdaningtyas (Director for International Security and Nuclear Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
