Active cases continue declining trend in S Sumatra

Palembang, South Sumatra The Health Office of South Sumatra province has reported that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the province has continued to decline, with more recoveries and a downtrend recorded in daily cases.

The number of active cases has dropped from 11,158 on February 24, 2022, to 9,667 now, head of the South Sumatra Health Office, Lesti Nurainy, informed here on Saturday.

Since the first COVID-19 case was detected in the province, South Sumatra has recorded as many as 77,979 COVID-19 cases, 65,113 recoveries, and 3,199 COVID-19-related deaths, she noted.

To reduce the number of active cases and transmission of COVID-19 in the province, the local Health Office is continuing to increase public awareness on following the health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds, she said.
