DataConnect is now available globally across six major digital platforms

Mixed-brand fleets now viewable in a single portal of choice

Berlin & Harsewinkel, Germany, & Mannheim, Germany & Burr Ridge, Ill.–(Antara/Business Wire)- DataConnect, the global initiative to enable viewing mixed-brand fleets in a single platform, is now live with an expanded line of six major digital platforms and available to farm operations around the world. Case IH, STEYR and New Holland now join John Deere, CLAAS and the European farm management platform 365FarmNet, which launched the feature late last fall.

Any farm operations using any self-propelled forage harvesters, combines or tractors from the participating brands now can view it all in one participating platform. Previously, viewing such information required managing additional portal for each brand involved.

With this new approach, customers can view five different machinery data parameters from their machine fleet:

• current machine location

• historical machine position

• fuel tank level

• status of the machine in the field

• machine speed

Any farm operator/owner who want to use the option simply needs to provide themselves with the permission to view all equipment in the platform that is most convenient for them. Once connected, the machines of the other manufactures appear automatically in that portal. The vehicles are even displayed with icons in the respective brand colors.

DataConnect works without any additional hardware and software components and ensures secure data handling. The solution will apply to hundreds of thousands of already connected machines.

The addition of CNH Industrial means that users of AFS Connect, the telematics platform of Case IH, MyPLM Connect for New Holland, and S-Tech for STEYR, will have the option for the cloud-to-cloud exchange of data with both John Deere Operations Center and CLAAS TELEMATICS or 365FarmNet portals.

Foreign tourist arrivals decreased 3.85 percent in May 2021: BPS

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that foreign tourist arrivals in May 2021 reduced by 3.85 percent from the figure in May 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic that prompted the government to restrict public mobility.

“It is very clear that foreign tourist visits are still constrained by the mobility restriction policy. The number of visits in 2021 is recorded to be lower than that in 2020 as well as under normal conditions,” BPS Head Margo Yuwono stated during a virtual press conference here on Thursday.

Yuwono remarked that the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in May 2021 had plunged to 155,610, or a 3.85-percent drop, as compared to 161,840 visits in May 2020. However, the number of visits in May 2021 increased by 24.48 percent from the figure in April 2021.

Out of the total 155,610 visits in May 2021, tourist arrivals from the African region recorded the highest percentage increase of up to 571.43 percent, when compared to foreign tourist arrivals in May 2020. On the other hand, foreign tourists coming from the ASEAN region decreased by 24.07 percent.

On the basis of nationality, most foreign tourists arriving in Indonesia are from Timor Leste, with a total of 80,140 visits, or 51.50 percent; followed by 48,070 visits from Malaysia, or 31.54 percent; and 5,200 visits from China or as much as 3.34 percent.

Cumulatively, foreign tourist arrivals during the January-May 2021 period had reached 664,540, or decreased by 77.62 percent, from 2.97 million visits during the corresponding period in the previous year.

Out of the total visits recorded during the January-May 2021 period, 5,406 people arrived in Indonesia by plane, 196,100 people arrived aboard ships, and 414,370 others visited by land route.

Govt should ensure food availability during emergency PPKM: researcher

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) researcher Felippa Ann Amanta appealed to the government to ensure food availability for people while enforcing emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM).

“In the midst of the uncertainty that we are experiencing together, access to food supplies is increasingly important and must continue to be guaranteed,” Amanta noted in a press release here on Thursday.

Amanta remarked that the implementation of emergency PPKM was a strategic step to suppress the spread of COVID-19. However, this policy must be followed by guaranteeing the availability of food for the community.

Such efforts are deemed necessary, as these restrictions are feared to disrupt food distribution.

Amanta reminded all parties that the pandemic had caused economic disruption following extensive job losses.

Hence, she urged the government to ensure that the community, especially affected and underprivileged members, can access food commodities at affordable prices. To this end, she stressed that the government should focus on ensuring the availability of food supplies. “All parties — the central and regional governments, entrepreneurs, and food distributors — must work together to maintain availability and access of food for all Indonesian people,” according to Amanta.

Citing data from the World Bank High Frequency Survey, Amanta noted that over 31 percent of Indonesian households experienced food shortages during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in May 2020.

She noted that the food supply chain not only included food processing facilities but also agricultural supplies and packaging materials as well as other food support industries. Other food support industry entrepreneurs also expressed major concerns.

Meanwhile, the government has allocated a social protection budget of Rp408.8 trillion for 2021 for disbursal through government assistance programs to ease the burden on the community owing to economic disruption during the pandemic.

Most programs are a continuation of last year’s program, including the Basic Food Card or Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) program, reaching nearly Rp200,000 per month for each family for a total of 18.8 million beneficiary families (KPM) until the end of the year.

Moreover, the Cash Social Assistance (BST) and the social assistance of Family Hope Program (PKH), targeted to reach 10 million recipient families for each program, is expected to help vulnerable communities during the implementation of emergency PPKM.
