Pari Island To Celebrate New Year With Culinary Festival

Culinary Festival is ready to enliven New Year’s Eve in Pari Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands.

It will be concentrated on the yard of the local urban village office.

Pari Island Urban Village Head, Surahman said that various kinds of culinary will be sold from the produce of the earth and sea from Lancang Island such as, sweet potato porridge, breadfruit tea, cassava compote, breadfruit chips, green beans, pacar cina (local dessert), peyek ikan (small-fry chips), fish meatballs, chicken meatballs, black sticky rice cakes, fish crackers, fish crackers, and various fish grilled fish.

“This festival is to strengthen silaturahmi among citizens and to welcome New Year’s Eve. We also have arts and cultural performances here,” he expressed, Monday (12/31).

There will also be fundraising actions for victims of the Sunda Strait tsunami in Banten and Lampung.

“Alhamdulillah, we managed to collect donation by Rp 3,555,000. This is an additional aid besides the six sacks of clothes that have been collected by Pari Island Karang Taruna youth members,” he stated.

Rain Expected To Fall In Several Jakarta Areas

BMKG expected rain to fall in several Jakarta areas this afternoon. Residents should be aware of weather change.

“Cloudy in morning,” stated Taufan Maulana, BMKG’s Public Relation Head, Monday (12/31).

He explained, rain will fall in West Jakarta and North Jakarta in afternoon. While tonight will be partly cloudy in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Seribu Islands.

“At dawn, most Jakarta areas will be cloudy with light rain to fall in Seribu Islands,” he informed.

He mentioned, temperature could reach 24-32 Celsius degree with humidity 75-95 percent. Wind blows from southwest-west within 10-45 kilometers per hour.

“Strong wind is potential to occur in Jakarta today,” he asserted.

3,070 Worker Cards Distributed Today

As many as 1,564 worker cards are distributed to residents who get salary based on provincial minimum wages (UMP). It is only symbolic of the total submitted 3,070 worker cards today.

In that occasion, Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan stated that those cards could be used to access Transjakarta for free until buying subsidized staples.

“This breakthrough is done to ensure that workers in the capital earning of the UMP can get additional facilities. Thus they can live in prosperity,” he disclosed, after he distributed the worker cards, in Kramatjati Market, East Jakarta, Monday (12/31).

Even it could also be used for shopping at Kramat Jati Jak Wholesale or other traditional markets at low prices.

“We hope it can meet the daily needs of workers,” he continued.

Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah stated that it is noted that 6,441 workers from 212 companies who get the card. But there were only 3,756 passed the verification process.

“Until today we have given 3,070 cards in five cities,” he told.

That means around 3,371 data are still in the verification process. This data will continue to grow in line with the continued additional data from a number of associations and federations of workers in the capital.
