Pari & Tidung Karang Taruna Prepares Logistic Aid to Tsunami Victims

To lighten the burden of tsunami victims in Banten and Lampung, the Karang Taruna youth members in Pari Island Urban Village and Tidung Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands.

Pari Island Urban Village Karang Taruna Chairman, Armawan stated, until now, cash as much as Rp 10,861,500 and six sacks of clothes were collected already.

“The aid will be sent to the victims as soon as possible,” he expressed, Saturday (12/29).

Pari Island Urban Village Head, Surahman very appreciates the initiative of them.

“They prove that they have a high social life to lighten the burden on their brothers and sisters who are affected by the disaster,” he stressed.

Rp 171 Million Donated to Tsunami Victims

Grants amounting to Rp 171 million were sent to tsunami victims in Banten and South Lampung. These funds come from fundraising actions.

West Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi stated that it was a spontaneous action as a form of care and solidarity.

“Some of victims are from West Jakarta. Alhamdulillah we managed to collect Rp 90 million plus Bazis by Rp 81 million,” he expressed, Sunday (12/29).

Aside that, officials and public figures in attendance were also invited to conduct joint prayers for victims.

The silaturahmi night attended by West Jakarta Administration officials and locals were aimed to strengthen silaturahmi. It was also attended by City Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimko) leaders, namely West Jakarta Resort Police Chief, Comr. Hengky Haryadi, 0503/JB Military District Commander, Lt. (Kav) Henry Masengi, and West Jakarta District Attorney’s Office Head, Patris Yusrian Jaya.

Jakarta will Be Cloudy Today

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) expects bright and cloudy in the capital and its satellite cities.

BMKG’s Public Relations Section Head, Akhmad Taufan Maulana said that bright and cloudy will occur in South Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Seribu Islands in the afternoon.

“At night until dawn, weather will be cloudy, but beware of strong winds,” he expressed, Sunday (12/30).

Temperatures are expected to be in the range of 24-33 degrees Celsius with humidity of 55 to 90 percent.

“While southwest-northwest wind velocity that could reach 05-20 kilometers per hour,” he said.
